Editor’s note:
My sister, Mary, continues her brave battle against breast cancer (currently winning), and so many memories of my big sister come to me during our walks together. One is the music she loved when we were growing up. This one, popular in 1964, seems to me now a harbinger of what I would learn much later — that our health, and our ability to come to the moment, are our most precious gifts.
Favorite Lyrics:
“A million tomorrows shall all pass away, there I’ll forget all the joy that is mine, today.”
