At a recent dinner, my 9-year-old grandson asked me if I had “ripped cheeks”. His dad, my son, and I roared with laughter while Alice and his 13-year-old sister rolled their eyes. After a pause, granddaughter Rose asked me, “Grandpa, how is it that 74-, 45- and 9-year-old boys all still find fart jokes funny”?
