Editor’s Note: I heard this theme from my youth in a shop or elevator recently and three thoughts struck me. 1. I don’t feel any differently about violence than I did in my freshman year of college, when this song became popular and 2. Like poverty, it appears violence will “always be with us”, and 3. In our country, violence is once again waxing, after decades of waning. May this new blip be brief.
